 David has been racing since 2000, starting off with assistance from his Datsun Dynamics friends and renting cars. In 2001 David, along with his wife Angela, purchased a bright red MR2 ITA race car (which matched their red street MR2) from a racer—Dean—who had lovingly cared for the car since it was developed into a race car.

| David and his wife shared the car in 2001. Due to her pregnancy, Angela stopped racing in 2002.

| David continued racing with a complete rebuild of the red MR2 which had suffered a large racing incident. As part of the rebuild the tiger was born! David raced regionals in 2003, and at the end of 2003 converted the car to SCCA's FP (production racing) class so that he could move on to national racing. |

| 2004 was David's debut season in SCCA National racing and he did quite well, generally finishing mid to back of the pack on courses he'd never driven. He found it odd getting used to driving on full race slicks, but improved the car over the 2004 winter and returned to nationals with a vengeance in 2005. He enjoyed the nationals greatly, and appreciated all the wonderful people he competed with all year. |

| The 2006 season saw David racing in SCCA national FP races as well as NASA's brand new PT class. Despite transmission issues, that required a complete rebuild, and a blown clutch, he has excelled in NASA and will compete in the first ever NASA national championship held at Mid Ohio. |
